Up to nine credit hours can be transferred into the program for prior graduate-level work at another institution. GMAT scores are required for the application, as is a bachelor's degree and transcripts. In cases where the applicant has work experience as a manager and a GPA above 3.25, the GMAT can be waived. Graduate students enrolled full-time may be eligible for a UT Tyler Fellowship. Active members of the military and veterans have access to the many resources offered by the Military and Veterans Success Center

Western Carolina University's Master of Science in Human Resources program can be completed in two years. The program is a total of 36 credit hours and was designed for working professionals. The curriculum was developed for alignment with the competencies established by the Human Resource Certification Institute, the Academy for Human Resource Development, the Association for Talent Development, and the Society for Human Resource Management. These competencies bring together concepts of strategic, operational, ethical, and relational leadership. Required courses in the program include Organizational Acumen for HR Leaders, Principles and Practice in Human Resources, and a capstone seminar in human resources. Students select five elective courses from topics such as Coaching for Performance, Organization Development, and Talent Development. 

Admission to WCU's MS in Human Resources program requires that applicants have an undergraduate degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Three letters of recommendation and GRE scores are also required. Deadlines to apply are April 1 for fall-term enrollment and November 1 for spring-term enrollment. Graduate students may apply for WCU's many scholarships.

Tarleton State University's Master of Science in Human Resources Management consists of 30 credits. The program gives its students current industry knowledge in labor relations, compensation, and benefits. To prepare graduates for high-level management positions, it aims to develop competence for strong leadership within the strategic planning of organizations. Throughout the program, students take classes such as Business Research Methods, Law and Regulation in Human Resources, and Training and Development. All students are required to take a comprehensive exam to receive their MS HRD degree. The program has an active and award-winning chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management. 

Applicants to the MS in HRM at Tarleton State must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum 2.5 GPA. Students with a GPA lower than 3.0 must also submit GRE or GMAT test scores. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and should be submitted at least one month prior in the term the student intends to enroll. The College of Business Administration hosts an annual job fair for current students and alumni. As part of the Texas A&M University System, veterans enrolled in classes at Tarleton State University are eligible for state tuition assistance.
